  10th Annual Faith-in-Action Sunday Recap

Good Shepherd’s 10th Annual FIA Sunday on October 2nd, 2016 was marked by a prayerful spirit as compassionate servants worked side by side to be Jesus’ hands and feet to our community and the world.   Faith-in-Action reminds us to care for the poor locally and globally, showing ourselves to be Jesus’ disciples.  This year we had 456 (adults, teens and kids) involved and served!  (Last year we had 442!)

We packed 40,000 meal packets for Kids Around the World, 300 Vetereans Blessing Bags, 160 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, 1,600 Hygiene Kits for Mission Haiti, 100 Pamper Packs for Female Veterans and 300 Hygiene Care Kits for the homeless!  Other projects included PB&J sandwiches for the homeless, Days for Girls made reusable menstrual hygiene kits, Medication packets were assembled to be used at mobile medical clinics in Haiti by our GSLC Medical Mission Team this January, Fresh produce grocery bags were assembled to benefit the needy served by Families Forward and Christmas Ornaments were made with gift ideas for the needy served by local agencies in our community.

Special thanks to all the leaders of these activities.  We could not have done it without you!  Thank you to everyone who helped setting up and taking down!

Let’s keep putting our Faith into Action!
