Men’s Breakfast
February 11 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

In a recent survey, only 30% of the women said that their boyfriends or husbands showed empathy. Wow. That’s pretty low. What’s empathy? Empathy is paying attention to another human being, asking what they are feeling and making a commitment to understanding their world. Notice we’re not saying it’s about agreeing with another person’s values and beliefs or giving out big hugs. That’s sympathy. What we’re talking about is trying to understand a situation from another person’s perspective.
Our presenter, Dennis Boyle M.D., is an academic Rheumatologist and a Emeritus Professor at the University of Colorado. For over 20 years he has been a physician risk manager at COPIC, a malpractice insurance company, and he has spoken across the nation on the topics of disclosing medical errors, empathy, communication, and various malpractice issues.
